Personality“I am not your mother.” While Alison might be a nice woman 75% of the time, she is a very strict person. Working once as a middle school teacher, she made a rule for herself then and there she was not going to be pushed over. She also found that she hated teaching young people. She didn’t like the fact that it took saying the same thing five or so times before they actually understood. This is not to say Alison dislikes children, she’s rather fond of them and would like one of her own some day. However, wanting a child of her own does not connect her to the students in the same sense. She still is not their mother, and will make sure they know this.

Alison enjoys teaching her science classes. The world of science is always expanding and new things are always being found. It’s a mystery and she loves keeping on top of the newest information. In the end of it, she’s a complete nerd but manages to avoid showing it off. She has a wonderful sense of self awareness and actually thinks before she speaks. Usually. As the coordinator for FBLA, Alison understands how the business world works. She took a few years of it in college as a minor. The way she carries herself, upright and proper, could be an allusion to a business air as well. Luckily, the girls and boys of the rugby team probably know better.

All is not as it appears when it comes to Miss Alison Heart. Oh, one more thing. “Sometimes a drink in hand is better than in the fridge.”

HistoryAs a young girl and into her teen years, Alison hated school. She loathed it, and refused to go almost everyday. She'd stamp her feet and whine. But finally she made one, true friend, Brendon, who was always there with her. He didn't much like school either, but he didn't put up nearly as big of a stink. After a while they got over their hate, but only because they had been presented with a challenge. There was a Battle of the Bands to take place soon, and they wanted in; but they needed members. However, the only way to participate in the event was to go to school and pass all of their classes. It was a community project set up by the school and parents themselves, due to the fact that a lot of kids liked music and were a part of various bands.

Taking the challenge, Alison and Brendon found four new members. They were the best of friends, and rocked the garage they practiced in. The whole school knew of their band, Hidden Identity, in which they had stage names taken after the cute My Little Ponies. Alison was Galaxy Dust, and hasn't changed her AIM screen name since. But then they fell apart when graduation and college came. Alison hadn't thought breaking up a band would have been that hard, but it tore her apart. She was angry, depressed, and avoided school. A bad choice, but Brendon convinced her to go because the Battle still needed to take place. They lost, but they all had fun anyway. And then it was over, Alison never spoke to them again. Sometimes on AIM, but that was the end of their fun.

Her mother, the whole time, had watched in silence until it was too much. Going to her daughter, they had a long and heart-felt talk. Finally Mrs. Heart coerced her eldest child into college. But what would she do? Going back to her report cards, as her mother saved all of them, they found Alison was best in science and had the math to keep up with it. Applying the coming year to several colleges, she was surprised to find she was accepted to most of them. Taking her pick of the litter, she went and after four years she left the college. Good for her, she had placed in several second and third year level classes.

She was more intelligent than she’d given herself credit for, and so, with her new life and degree in hand, Alison changed for the better. Alison saw in herself what she didn’t want new students to become. With a teaching degree in the sciences in one hand and a minor in business in the other the woman set foot into the world. First she worked as an elementary school teacher, but that didn’t last long as she disliked their attitude and lack of attention. She doubted middle school would be much different, and applied to high schools. Many didn’t need any positions at the time, so she tried some private schools. Luckily, Goldfinch was in need of another science teacher.
